Owner James Sinclair says the event will celebrate the Blue Boar in a way that’s “never been done before”. He added:
We want to show off our fantastic pub, by welcoming beer and real ale lovers from all over the county. It’s a great opportunity to kick back with friends and family over the weekend, in totally unique surroundings.
A dozen real ales from around the UK will be featured alongside local brewers, including Braintree-based Bishop Nick, a sixth-generation family brewer.
Chloe Quye, senior manager at the pub in Silver Street, said:
This is our first event since taking over at the Blue Boar, and we can’t wait to host it. Come rain or shine, it will be huge fun. The drinks will be flowing and local musicians will be playing.
In total, 12 different ales will be on offer – from Adnams, Wildcraft Brewery, Bath Ales, Elgood Brewery, Harveys Brewery, Timothy Taylor, St Austell Brewery, Vale Brewery, and more. Dating back to the 14th Century, the Blue Boar is believed to be the oldest pub in Maldon.
